QR Diary
Privacy Policy
SOLZAHAR TECHNOLOGIES
Effective date: July 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what happens to information when you use QR Diary. QR Diary is designed to work without an account and without a SOLZAHAR TECHNOLOGIES server that collects your scan history.
1. Information collected
QR Diary does not operate a backend server, and no account is required to use the app. SOLZAHAR TECHNOLOGIES does not collect, receive, or have access to your scan history, saved QR content, notes, folders, tags, or backup/export files.
The app includes Google's ML Kit Barcode Scanning SDK, which is used to detect and read QR codes and barcodes on-device. As described in Section 4 below, ML Kit may collect limited technical diagnostics data separately from your scan content. This technical data is collected by Google as the SDK provider, not by a SOLZAHAR TECHNOLOGIES server.
2. Camera and barcode content
- Camera images and QR/barcode content are processed on your device.
- The input camera images, decoded barcode contents, and scan results produced while scanning are not sent to SOLZAHAR TECHNOLOGIES.
- ML Kit's on-device barcode detection does not send the image data you scan, or the barcode content it decodes, to Google servers as part of processing that content. Barcode detection uses a model bundled with the app and runs offline.
Scanned links are never opened automatically. QR Diary always shows the parsed result first and requires your confirmation before opening a link or taking an action based on scanned content.
3. Local storage, backup, and export
Your scan history, folders, tags, notes, and app settings are stored only in app-private local storage on your device. Backup and export files (JSON or CSV) are created only at a location you choose using the Android system file picker (Storage Access Framework); QR Diary does not upload these files anywhere. Backup and export files are not encrypted, so please store them somewhere safe. Clearing your history or uninstalling the app removes this locally stored data from your device.
4. ML Kit Technical Data
QR Diary uses Google's ML Kit Barcode Scanning SDK for on-device QR and barcode detection. Separately from the camera images and scan content described in Section 2, ML Kit may collect limited technical data, including:
- Device information, such as manufacturer, model, operating system version/build, and available ML hardware.
- Application information, including package name and app version.
- Device or per-installation identifiers.
- Performance metrics, such as processing latency.
- API configuration, such as image format and resolution.
- Input and output size.
- Feature version.
- Event types, such as initialization, model loading, detection, and resource release.
- Error codes for feature events.
Purpose: This technical data is used by Google for diagnostics and usage analytics related to the ML Kit SDK.
Protections: This technical data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and is not transferred by ML Kit to third parties.
This technical, diagnostic data is distinct from your scan content: ML Kit does not send the images you scan or the barcode values it decodes as part of this technical data collection.
5. Advertising and analytics
- QR Diary contains no advertisements and no advertising SDK.
- QR Diary contains no analytics service operated by SOLZAHAR TECHNOLOGIES.
- QR Diary does not perform cross-app or cross-website behavioral tracking.
- QR Diary includes the limited ML Kit technical diagnostics and usage analytics described in Section 4, which are collected by Google as the SDK provider.
6. Internet connection
QR Diary's core scanning and local-history functions are designed to work offline: QR and barcode detection uses a model bundled with the app, so no model download over the internet is required for scanning. An internet connection may be used for:
- Google Play Billing, to process the optional one-time QR Diary Pro purchase.
- Opening external links or actions you confirm from a scan result (for example, a web link, in your browser).
- Transmitting the limited ML Kit technical metrics described in Section 4.
7. Payments
QR Diary Pro is offered as a one-time purchase (not a subscription) through Google Play Billing. Payment processing and payment information are handled entirely by Google Play; SOLZAHAR TECHNOLOGIES does not receive or store your payment details.
8. Retention and deletion
- You can delete individual scans, clear your entire scan history, or clear folders/tags at any time from within the app.
- You can delete backup or export files you created at any time, using your device's file manager, since they are ordinary files stored where you chose to save them.
- Uninstalling QR Diary removes its locally stored app data from your device (subject to your device's normal app-data-removal behavior).
- SOLZAHAR TECHNOLOGIES does not operate a server that stores the ML Kit technical data described in Section 4. Google's handling of that technical data is governed by Google's own applicable privacy practices.
9. Children's privacy
QR Diary is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same web address with a revised effective date.
